
Irini Angelidaki is professor at the Dept of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering at the Technical university of Denmark. Central to Irini Angelidaki´s research is the use of microorganisms for upcycling waste into valuable products, advancing both fundamental knowledge and applied technologies.
Irini Angelidaki is leading the Bioconversions center, which focuses in emerging technologies for valorisation of biomass and development of biological methods for CO2 capture into methane and chemicals. She has also focused on microbial communities, particularly the complex interactions within anaerobic microbiomes.
She has participated in large number of national and EU projects, among others an ERC-Adv grant and received a number of Prizes such as Grundfos prize. She has over 600 peer review publications and an H-index of 134 according to Google Scholar.
